Work Hollowing out the treetrunk, finishing the external shape

Participants maximum of two

Description In contrast to the common perception of beekeeping at present, we are trying to go on a path of nature-sensitive keeping. An example of such a beehive would mean that the bees are given the opportunity to establish the honeycombs on their own terms. For this, actual treetrunks should be put into use.

Direction Johannes Loriz

Here's the result: A beehive out of wood. The material is poplar wood from our own trees, hollowed out inside so that sufficient space for open activity in honeycomb-builidng is produced. The photo shows the prototype in our experimental phase.
